About FYA

The Flying Yankee Restoration Group, Inc. d/b/a The Flying Yankee Association was formed in 1996 to assist the State of New Hampshire, owner of the B&M #6000, the Flying Yankee, with the process of fundraising and managing the restoration of this historic 1935 streamlined train. The Flying Yankee Restoration Group obtained its non-profit 501c3 status from the IRS in 1997. The organization is controlled by a volunteer Board of Directors dedicated to preserving the Flying Yankee and restoring it to operate within the Mount Washington Valley of New Hampshire.

The current board has successfully transferred ownership of the train to our organization and fundamentally changed the approach to restoration. Visit our press release to read more about our current plans.
